About
Edmonton Reptile Rehab & Rescue is run by Michele Weldon out of her home near Calmar. She has 25 years of experience with the rehab, rescue and re-homing of reptiles.
It started when Michele was asked to babysit her cousin's iguana, Dylan, and ended up keeping him. Word got around that she was a good caretaker for cold-blooded animals. CBC News reported in 2017 that more than 1,000 animals had come through the rescue, and that it was handling about 100 a year, with many adopted out to new homes.
Animals arrive for all sorts of reasons: a new landlord who won't allow reptiles, a family moving away, or an owner who didn't realize how much work a reptile takes. Every one of the 14 people who have reviewed the rescue on Facebook recommends it.
